200 Hygiene Kits Distributed To Adolescent Girls Under Swachhata Pakhwada By NTPC Bongaigaon And Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club
A total of 200 hygiene kits were distributed to the adolescent girls

As part of the Swachhata Pakhwada observance from 16th to 31st May 2025, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, NTPC Bongaigaon organized a special awareness programme on 21st May at Salakati ME School, Kokrajhar, Assam. The initiative focused on promoting hygiene practices among school children, with a dedicated session on menstrual hygiene management for adolescent girls.
Kasturi Maitra, President of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, in her address, highlighted that menstrual hygiene is not just a health issue but a matter of self-respect and empowerment. She emphasized the need for early education to ensure girls grow up with confidence and awareness. She appreciated the collaborative efforts of NTPC Bongaigaon and the school in hosting such a meaningful and impactful event. She reaffirmed the Ladies Club’s commitment towards the upliftment of women and girl children in the region through sustained community engagement.

Additionally Dr. Chandni Brahma from NTPC Bongaigaon Hospital led the awareness session, speaking about the importance of daily personal hygiene and safe menstrual practices. She explained the correct usage and disposal methods of sanitary napkins and addressed common concerns faced by young girls, helping them understand the significance of menstrual health in overall well-being.
A total of 200 hygiene kits were distributed to the adolescent girls aimed at equipping them with essential resources and awareness for menstrual hygiene management and improving personal health .

The event saw active participation from Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club members, including Vice President Soumya Kar and office bearers of the ladies Club. NTPC representatives Pranami Handique, Senior Manager (HR), and Smriti Das, Executive (CSR), also supported the programme.The event reflects the shared commitment of NTPC Bongaigaon and Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club to community well-being under the broader mission of Swachhata Pakhwada.
