AIACE Delegation Meets MoS Urban Development, Apprised About Pitiable Condition Of Coal Pensioners

The Minister was told that many pensioners are getting pension less than Rs 1000/- per month in spite of working in dirty environment for long years

AIACE delegation led by P.K. Singh Rathor, Convenor of AIACE/AICPA, Dr A M Mohan, President, Bilaspur Branch, S.C. Sinha and P.K. Sharan met Tokhan Sahu, Hon’ble Minister of State, Urban Development in Bilaspur on 6th July and handed him a memorandum for taking up with Hon’ble Union Minister for Coal, the vexing issue of Pension to retirees from coal sector.

After handing over the representation, Shri Rathor told that the minister was apprised about pitiable condition of coal pensioners, escecially those Pensioners who retired long back.

He told that many pensioners are getting pension less than Rs 1000/- per month in spite of working in dirty environment for long years for meeting the energy requirement of the country. Even the highest Board level and below board level executives who retired before 2007 are getting a meagre pension, insufficient to lead comfortable life.

The Minister was requested for extending support to the cause and use his good offices for resolving this critical issue by taking up with the coal minister as poor pensioners are on the verge of starvation with the present pension amount. The delegation was glad on assurances of desirable actions in this regard.
