NTPC & POSOCO Observe International Yoga Day
NTPC’s, a Maharatna PSU and Indian Grid Operator POSOCO, a PSU, both under Ministry of Power, observed the 7th International Yoga Day and celebrated the same through today.
NTPC’s strength lies in its motivated, disciplined and efficient staff, who are always ready to serve the nation in any situation. Keeping up with the world, NTPC Unchahar also took the help of video conference to celebrate Yoga Day, so that Yoga could land at home, with family.
On the occasion of International Yoga Day, yoga was practiced through video conference at NTPC Unchahar. Senior officers performed yoga session at Bal Bhawan and other employees through video conference. Before the start of yoga practice, Chief General Manager of NTPC Unchahar Bhola Nath gave his address, ‘Our motto should be Yoga for Peace, Harmony and Progress’. He appreciated the NTPC personnel for spreading the message of Yoga. India is engaged in spreading the message of modern yoga from cities to villages and to the homes of poor and tribal communities. He emphasized the importance of making yoga an integral part of life .
Indian Grid Operator POSOCO, another PSU under Ministry of Power, observed 7th International Yoga Day with over 600 employees and their families connecting via online today.Power System Operation Corporation held this Yoga session in association with Art of Living. The theme of this year is “Yoga for Wellness” which focusses on practicing Yoga for physical and mental well-being.
K.V.S. Baba, CMD, POSOCO addressed all the employees on the occasion and requested all POSOCO employees and their family members to include Yoga as a part of their daily routine as it helps to achieve physical and mental well-being.On his address, Shri Baba said thatYoga helps in improving metabolism, maintaining proper blood circulation, respiratory disorders, etc. It also builds mental health and emotional resilience and enables to cope up with fear, anxiety and depression.
During this one-hour yoga session, many yoga asana, pranayama including breathing exercises were practiced under the instructions of Yoga expert from Art of Living.
