CCL Organises 2-Day Awareness Session on New Labour Codes

The new labour codes are set to come into effect from 21st November 2025

Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) organised a two-day awareness session to widely disseminate the provisions of the new labour codes and ensure their effective implementation across the organisation. The programme began on 3rd December 2025 at MTC, HRD and will continue till 4th December.

The new labour codes are set to come into effect from 21st November 2025, marking an important shift in India’s labour governance framework.

The session commenced with a welcome address by M.F. Haque, General Manager (HRD), who greeted the keynote speaker Dr. Omkar Sharma, Harsh Nath Mishra, Director (HR), and all the participants. He emphasised the importance of the programme and wished the attendees a productive experience.

Addressing the gathering, H.N. Mishra, Director (HR), described the new labour codes as a historic step towards making the country’s labour ecosystem modern, transparent, and employee-friendly. He also appreciated Dr. Sharma’s significant role in the drafting committee of the Labour Codes, noting that participants would be able to understand the provisions from an authoritative and authentic source.

During the keynote session, Dr. Omkar Sharma explained the four labour codes using simple, practical examples to help participants grasp their legal and procedural aspects. His interactive, fact-based, and engaging lecture received a positive response from the audience.

A total of 120 participants, including General Managers, Department Heads from Headquarters, SOs (HR), and HR Officers from regional offices, attended the programme. They found the session highly informative and valuable for immediate application in their respective work areas. The first day concluded with an enthusiastic question-and-answer session and experience sharing, where officers praised the simplicity and practicality of the presentation.

CCL stated that it will continue organising such awareness and capacity-building programmes to help officers and employees stay aligned with the evolving labour structure and contribute to a better work culture.
