Bank of Baroda Observes International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025
Theme: “BankAbilities – Banking on the Abilities of the Differently Abled”

Bank of Baroda, one of India’s leading public sector banks, observed the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) 2025 with a special programme at its Corporate Office, centred around the theme “BankAbilities – Banking on the Abilities of the Differently Abled.” The event reflected the Bank’s continued commitment to fostering awareness, strengthening inclusion, and empowering persons with disabilities (PWDs) among its workforce and within the community at large.
With a strong base of over 2,325 PWD employees, accounting for nearly 3% of its total workforce, Bank of Baroda has consistently promoted a culture of equal opportunities through accessible workplaces, customised roles, assistive tools and structured career growth pathways. The IDPD event was graced by Ms. Beena Vaheed, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda, along with other senior officials of the Bank.
The programme featured a sensitisation skit performed by Bank staff, followed by the felicitation of distinguished PWD achievers. Among those honoured were Ms. Sushmeetha B. Bubna, a visually impaired entrepreneur, CEO of Ascent Networks and Founder of Media Enterprises-Faiyda, and Ms. Prerna Dhone, a national gold medallist in wheelchair basketball. Adding to the event’s vibrancy was a soulful performance by the visually impaired musical group “Bansuri Bliss” and an exhibition of handcrafted products created by differently-abled artists from the Self Esteem Foundation for the Disabled. Employees also participated in engaging, non-verbal interactive games designed to promote empathy and deeper understanding of the challenges faced by PWDs.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Beena Vaheed highlighted the Bank’s longstanding emphasis on inclusion. “The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is a powerful reminder of the immense potential that resides within every individual. At Bank of Baroda, we are committed to building an inclusive ecosystem – creating opportunities, enabling access and removing barriers – such that every employee and customer can live and thrive with dignity and independence,” she said.
Ms. Vaheed also outlined the Bank’s ongoing accessibility measures and DEI initiatives for both customers and employees. Ramp facilities have been installed at 6,979 branches, complementing enhanced customer-centric services such as Doorstep Banking, Talking ATMs, the Insight Braille Debit Card, and upgraded digital platforms for seamless accessibility. For employees, Bank of Baroda continues to extend welfare schemes, assistive technologies, sensitisation and training sessions, and an Equal Opportunity policy that promotes equitable career advancement.
Through its sustained efforts, Bank of Baroda reaffirmed its dedication to creating a more inclusive, barrier-free environment—ensuring that ability, not disability, defines the potential of every individual within its fold.
