CCL Successfully Concludes Two-Day Awareness Session on New Labour Codes

Members from JCSC, Welfare & Safety Boards, and Trade Union Representatives Participate in the Programme

The Human Resource Development (HRD) Department of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) successfully organised a two-day awareness session on the new labour codes that came into effect from November 21, 2025. The programme concluded today at CCL’s Gangotri Convention Centre and was conducted under the guidance of Harsh Nath Mishra, Director (Human Resources).

The event commenced with General Manager (HR) Mr. M.F. Haque welcoming the keynote speaker, Dr. Omkar Sharma, former Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), New Delhi. He also welcomed General Manager (IR) Mr. Pratul Kumar, General Manager (Welfare) Mr. S.K. Thakur, General Manager (Manpower) Mrs. Kavita Gupta, along with all participants.

A key highlight of the programme was the insightful session by Dr. Omkar Sharma, who possesses extensive expertise in labour laws and served as a member of the Drafting Committee of the Labour Codes. He explained the provisions of all four new labour codes in a simple, clear, and accessible manner, enabling participants to gain comprehensive understanding.

Addressing the gathering, Director (Human Resources) Harsh Nath Mishra emphasized that CCL will continue to organise similar awareness and capacity-building sessions in the future. He added that empowering officers and employees with updated knowledge and skills aligned with the evolving labour landscape will help foster a more efficient, transparent, and positive work culture within the organisation.

A total of 70 participants attended the programme, including members of JCSC, the Welfare Board, the Safety Board, and trade union representatives from Area Consultative Committees across various CCL areas.
