AIDEF Issues Contempt Notice to Secretary (Defence Production)

Controversy deepens over service conditions of employees in new DPSUs

The All India Defence Employees Federation (AIDEF) has issued a Contempt of Court Notice to the Secretary (Defence Production), alleging that two MoD orders dated 04-08-2025 and 28-08-2025 violate assurances given before the Madras High Court regarding the service conditions of Defence Civilian Employees of Ordnance Factories.

AIDEF leaders S. N. Pathak and C. Srikumar said the Government had pledged through affidavits that employees would remain Central Government servants on deemed deputation to the seven new DPSUs, unless they opted for absorption, and that their pay, allowances, and service conditions would remain unchanged.

The federation has demanded withdrawal of the contentious orders and is also launching a signature campaign among 62,000 employees to press for retention of their Central Government status.

While how the Government responds to this contempt notice remains to be seen, the letter written by the organization is given below for the benefit of the viewers of www.indianpsu.com
