Airtel Down: Voice and Data Services Disrupted Across India
Airtel stated that its technical teams are actively working to restore normal services
A major network outage hit Bharti Airtel users across India on Monday afternoon, leaving thousands without mobile connectivity. Customers reported being unable to make calls, send SMS, or access mobile internet since around 3:30 PM IST.
At our office, one Airtel user walked in visibly anxious, thinking his SIM card—recently replaced—was faulty. He only felt relieved after learning that the outage was nationwide.
According to outage tracking platform Downdetector, reports started spiking around 3:30 PM, crossing 2,000–2,500 complaints by 4:00 PM. Users from Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, among other cities, voiced their frustration on social media platforms such as X, Facebook, and WhatsApp.
Airtel, one of India’s largest telecom operators, has acknowledged the issue. The company stated that its technical teams are actively working to restore normal services.
