AITUC Urges PM Modi To Restore Old Pension Scheme And Set Up 8th Pay Commission

The uncontrollable price rise of essential commodities is the reason why 8th Pay Commission should be set up, argues the union

www.indianpsu.com has already reported about the meeting of the Standing Committee of National Council (JCM) with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Central Government Employees and Pensioners are expecting a lot from the PM in today’s meeting. Main expectation is about the restoration of Old Pension Scheme and 8th Central Pay Commission.

AIDEF a major organization of Central Government employees have decided to stay away from the meeting as they anticipate that since it is already told in the Parliament that Old Pension Scheme will not be restored and that there will be only improvement in the NPS. Today in support of the stand taken by AIDEF, AITUC one of the major Central Trade Union have issued a statement, in which they have demanded that the Prime Minister should expect the most genuine demand of the Government employees for restoration of the Old Pension Scheme and also to immediately constitute the 8th Central Pay Commission considering the uncontrollable price rise of essential commodities and also the requirement of today’s standard of living. In a statement issued by Amarjeet kaur, General Secretary of AITUC have assured that AITUC will continue to support all the agitational programmes of the Central Government employees to achieve their rights.
