Badrinath Dham Doors Open For Summer Season : Uttarakhand CM Dhami Performs First Puja In PM Modi’s Name

Around 15,000 devotees from across India and abroad gathered to witness the grand opening of the temple gates

The sacred portals of Shri Badrinath Dham were ceremoniously opened for the summer season on Sunday at 6 a.m. amid Vedic chanting and traditional rituals. The first Mahabhishek Puja was performed by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, praying for the happiness and prosperity of the nation and the state.

Marking the auspicious occasion, Chief Minister Dhami also offered prayers at all major temples within the temple complex, including the Lakshmi Temple, Ganesh Temple, and the Adi Guru Shankaracharya Gaddi. Around 15,000 devotees from across India and abroad gathered to witness the grand opening of the temple gates.

Addressing pilgrims in Badrinath, the Chief Minister extended greetings and interacted with devotees to take feedback on travel and facility arrangements. He affirmed that comprehensive efforts have been made by the state government to ensure a safe and well-managed Chardham Yatra this year. He also urged devotees to support the government’s initiative for a clean and green pilgrimage in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.

The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the Badrinath Dham Master Plan with Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari and inspected ongoing construction near the temple. He directed officials to ensure timely and high-quality completion of all works under the master plan. Expressing satisfaction with the arrangements, he emphasized the need for seamless passenger amenities and robust security.

In a related development, CM Dhami also reviewed preparations for the upcoming Shri Hemkund Sahib Yatra. He assessed the status of a bridge under construction over the Alaknanda River at Govindghat and directed the District Magistrate to ensure quality and timely completion of the project ahead of the Yatra.

Prominent dignitaries present at the event included Rajya Sabha MP and BJP State President Shri Mahendra Bhatt, Jyotishpeeth Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj, MLA Kishore Upadhyay, newly appointed BKTC Vice Presidents Vijay Kaparvan and Rishi Prasad Sati, BKTC CEO Vijay Thapliyal, and Dharmadhikari Radha Krishna Thapliyal.
