Bank of Baroda Lays Foundation Stone for New Zonal Office Building in Ernakulam

Bank of Baroda, India’s International Bank, marked a significant milestone in strengthening its infrastructure in Kerala with the foundation stone laying ceremony of its new Zonal Office building at Canon Shed Road, Ernakulam. The foundation stone was laid by Beena Vaheed, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda.

The initiative reflects the Bank’s commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and supporting business growth across the state. The ceremony was attended by Prajit Kumar D, General Manager and Zonal Head; K. R. Kagadal, Deputy General Manager (Compliance & Assurance); Anishkumar Kesavan, Deputy General Manager (Business Development); Anmay Kumar Mishra, Deputy General Manager (ZIAD); along with Regional Heads of the Ernakulam Zone and other senior officials.

During her visit, Beena Vaheed interacted with employees at the Baroda Academy, Jos Junction, Ernakulam, emphasising the importance of capacity building, skill enhancement, and customer-centric banking. On the occasion, she also virtually inaugurated the new alternate premises of the Chattanchal Branch.

The Executive Director further addressed a customer meet with High Net-worth Individuals (HNIs) and major corporate clients from the Ernakulam Zone, reiterating the Bank’s focus on nurturing long-term partnerships and accelerating regional business expansion.

Speaking at the event, Beena Vaheed said, “Kerala has always been a key market for Bank of Baroda. Constructing our own zonal office building reflects our unwavering commitment to the state’s economic growth and development. The modern infrastructure will enable us to serve customers more effectively while supporting inclusive and sustainable progress.”

The new office building is expected to be operational within 21 months and will provide a dedicated, modern workspace for zonal operations. Currently, the Ernakulam Zonal Office functions from MG Road Metro Station premises.

Bank of Baroda has a strong footprint in Kerala with total business of ₹46,475 crore as on January 31, 2026, comprising deposits of ₹20,621 crore and advances of ₹25,854 crore. The Bank operates 248 branches, seven Digital Service Outlets and 263 ATMs across the state, employing around 1,800 people.

With this development, Bank of Baroda reinforces its commitment to strengthening regional infrastructure, supporting financial inclusion, and driving sustainable growth in Kerala.
