Bank of Baroda Organizes Mega Camp in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh under Nationwide Financial Inclusion Drive
Presence of DFS Secretary and Bank of Baroda MD & CEO underscores importance of the campaign

Bank of Baroda, one of India’s leading public sector banks, organized a Mega Camp at Amhat village in Sultanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, as part of the nationwide Saturation Campaign launched by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, Government of India. The campaign, running from July 1 to September 30, 2025, aims at 100% coverage of financial inclusion and social security schemes across Gram Panchayats (GPs) and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).
As the convenor of the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) in Uttar Pradesh, Bank of Baroda played a pivotal role in coordinating the event.
The programme was graced by M. Nagaraju, IAS, Secretary, DFS, Ministry of Finance; Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Bank of Baroda; Ankur Kaushik, IAS, Chief Development Officer, Sultanpur; Shailendra Kumar Singh, Convenor, SLBC-Uttar Pradesh & Zonal Head, Lucknow Zone; and Mithlesh Kumar, General Manager & Zonal Head, Varanasi Zone. The camp witnessed participation from over 1,000 local citizens.
Delivering the keynote address, M. Nagaraju, Secretary, DFS emphasized the Government’s commitment to ensuring equitable access to formal financial services. He highlighted flagship schemes including Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY), noting that the saturation campaign reflects the resolve to cover every GP and ULB. He also interacted with Business Correspondents (BCs), Self Help Groups (SHGs), and beneficiaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Debadatta Chand, MD & CEO, Bank of Baroda, said: “At Bank of Baroda, we believe that true financial inclusion goes beyond account opening—it is about empowering individuals to actively participate in the financial system and benefit from government-backed schemes. This Mega Camp in Sultanpur reflects our commitment to ensuring every household has access to essential banking services. The enthusiastic participation of the community motivates us to carry this mission forward with greater resolve.”
As part of the programme, claim cheques under PMJJBY were handed to beneficiaries, while certificates under PMJJBY and PMSBY and enrolment receipts under APY were distributed to newly enrolled citizens. Re-KYC of eligible PMJDY accounts was also conducted. Business Correspondents and BC Sakhis were felicitated for their outstanding contributions.
Representatives from all banks under the Uttar Pradesh SLBC actively participated in the camp, showcasing the collective commitment of the banking fraternity towards the Government of India’s vision of universal financial access and social security coverage.
