Coordination Meeting of Central Advisory Committee Held at BCCL Headquarters

Detailed discussions were held on the nationwide strike called by several trade unions on February 12

A coordination meeting with members of the Central Advisory Committee (CCC Board) of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) was held on Monday at Coal Bhawan Headquarters. The meeting was chaired by BCCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Manoj Kumar Agarwal.

Senior officials present at the meeting included Director (HR) Murali Krishna Ramaiah, OSD (Finance) Rajesh Kumar, General Manager (Coordination) Dhanraj Akhare, General Manager (HR) Kumar Manoj, General Manager (Administration) Arpan Ghosh, and Head of Department (CSR/Industrial Relations) Surendra Bhushan, along with other senior officers and staff of Coal Bhawan Headquarters.

The programme was attended by esteemed members of the BCCL CCC Board representing various trade unions, including R. Tiwari (BCMU), Arjun Singh (KIMP), Bhowmik Mahato (DCKS), Gopal Mishra (JMS), Hari Prasad Pappu (BCKU), and Bhavani Bandhopadhyay (UCWU).

During the meeting, detailed and positive discussions were held on the nationwide strike called by several trade unions on February 12, coal production targets, and other key operational and employee-related issues. All CCC Board members actively participated and shared their perspectives.

Addressing the gathering, CMD Manoj Kumar Agarwal emphasized that the Central Advisory Committee serves as an effective platform for constructive dialogue between management and employee organizations, helping to further strengthen organisational policies and employee welfare initiatives. He urged members to offer constructive suggestions and positive support to make BCCL’s progressive policies more impactful and result-oriented.

On the proposed nationwide strike scheduled for February 12, the CMD appealed to union representatives to reconsider the call and refrain from compelling workers to participate. He reiterated that BCCL remains fully committed to the welfare, safety, and overall development of its workforce and called upon all stakeholders to cooperate in the larger interest of the organisation.

The CCC Board members appreciated the management’s initiative, noting that such open dialogue plays a vital role in enhancing mutual trust and cooperation within the organisation. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Surendra Bhushan, Head of Department (Industrial Relations).
