BCCL’s Special Discount Scheme Gets Overwhelming Response; Records Massive Single-Day Coal Booking

Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) has achieved a remarkable milestone with its special discount scheme, recording unprecedented coal bookings in a single day during a recent auction.
The company is currently offering attractive discounts ranging from ₹100 to ₹600 per tonne across various slabs to facilitate the clearance of coal stocks. The initiative has received an overwhelming response from consumers, reflecting strong market demand.
According to official data, approximately 1.80 lakh tonnes of coal were booked via rail, translating into 45 rakes, while an additional 56,850 tonnes were booked through road transport. This takes the total coal booking to an impressive 2,36,850 tonnes in a single day.
Expressing satisfaction over the achievement, CMD Manoj Kumar Agarwal stated that the record-breaking response underscores BCCL’s customer-centric approach. He highlighted that such initiatives not only enhance transparency in the supply system but also strengthen logistical efficiency.
Agarwal further noted that the surge in rail bookings would significantly support the requirements of the steel sector, ensuring a steady and reliable coal supply. He also lauded Team BCCL for their coordinated efforts in making the scheme a success and expressed confidence in sustaining such performance going forward.
The initiative marks a significant step towards balancing demand and supply dynamics while ensuring timely availability of coal across regions.
