Zero tolerance on coal quality; CMD Manoj Kumar Agarwal stresses accountability, transparency, and technology-driven monitoring

BCCL Manoj Kumar Agarwal today chaired a crucial and comprehensive review meeting on the company’s coal quality strategy. Senior officials from the Quality Control Department (HQ), Sales Department (HQ), and General Managers (GMs) from all regions participated in the meeting.

Calling coal quality a factor “directly linked to the company’s reputation and consumer trust,” the CMD emphasized that BCCL’s sustained success depends on the timely, transparent, and quality-compliant delivery of coal to consumers. He directed all departments to strictly implement a “zero tolerance” policy regarding any compromise on coal quality.

Reiterating that consumer satisfaction remains a top priority, Agarwal instructed officials to ensure that consumer complaints and suggestions are addressed promptly and effectively. He urged each regional GM to conduct regular reviews of coal quality in their respective zones and ensure that quality control teams take immediate corrective action wherever discrepancies arise.

The review meeting thoroughly assessed the current status of BCCL’s quality policy, coal sampling and testing systems, monitoring framework, and consumer feedback mechanism.

The CMD highlighted that technological innovations, including digital tracking systems and enhanced site-level accountability, will be strengthened further to upgrade the overall quality assurance process. He expressed confidence that with coordinated efforts, BCCL will not only set new benchmarks in coal quality but also further reinforce consumer confidence.

This high-level review underscores BCCL’s sustained commitment to providing high-quality coal and maintaining the highest standards of reliability, transparency, and operational excellence.
