BCCL Director (Technical – Projects & Planning) Niladri Roy Conducts Inspection of Barora Area

Focuses on mine safety, production efficiency, and technological innovation during visit

Niladri Roy, Director (Technical – Projects & Planning), Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), today conducted an inspection tour of the Barora Area. During the visit, he carried out a detailed inspection of the departmental and higher patches of AMP Colliery as well as the departmental patch of Damoda Open Cast Project (OCP). He was accompanied by Mr. Sanjay Kumar, TS to DT (P&P).

The inspection aimed to review the production process, assess safety standards, and evaluate future production strategies.

Following the site inspection, Mr. Roy held a detailed review meeting with Regional General Manager Mr. K.K. Singh, AGM Mr. G.K. Mehta, Regional Safety Officer Mr. Y.S. Rajput, project officers of the concerned units, and other senior officials. The discussions focused on mine safety, production targets, equipment utilization, and technological innovations.

Emphasizing strict compliance with safety standards, Mr. Roy said that while increasing coal production remains a key objective, compromising on safety is unacceptable under any circumstances. He directed that safety must be prioritized in every operation to ensure a secure working environment for all employees.

He urged regional officials to maximize the use of modern technologies and automation to safely achieve production targets and enhance transparency. Highlighting the need to improve the capacity utilization of Heavy Earth Moving Machines (HEMMs), he stressed the importance of strategic planning and preventive maintenance for maximum equipment productivity.

Mr. Roy also reviewed the production planning for FY 2026–27 and beyond, instructing the teams to prepare a time-bound roadmap for sustained growth.

Reiterating BCCL’s core policy of “Safety First – Production Must,” he said that the company remains committed to sustainable mining, environmental protection, and social responsibility. He urged every officer and employee to uphold these values in daily operations.

Concluding his visit, Mr. Roy commended the Barora Area management and team, encouraging them to uphold the principles of safety, efficiency, and innovation to ensure that BCCL continues to lead within Coal India. He called upon all officials to work in unison to enhance production while setting new benchmarks in mine safety and operational excellence.
