CMD, BCCL Inaugurates ‘Health ATM Machine’ and New Canteen at Munidih Regional Hospital

Initiative promotes preventive healthcare and employee welfare; day ends with friendly cricket match and cultural evening

Taking a major step towards sustainable modernization and employee welfare, BCCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Manoj Kumar Agarwal inaugurated the ‘Health ATM Machine’ at Munidih Regional Hospital in the West Jharia region today. The event marked another milestone in BCCL’s commitment to integrating technology with employee healthcare services.

Also present on the occasion were Director (Technical) Operations Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Technical) Projects & Planning Niladri Roy, Chief Vigilance Officer Aman Raj, General Manager (West Jharia region) Arindam Mustafi, Chief Medical Officer Dr. S. Mandal, Medical Superintendent Dr. P.P. Ghosh, senior officials from the regional office and hospital, along with medical and nursing staff.

The program also witnessed the participation of Diksha Mahila Mandal members including President Mrs. Archana Agarwal, Vice President Mrs. Ranjana Singh, Mrs. Sanchita Roy, Mrs. Neha Das, and Mrs. Duti Mustafi.

In his address, CMD Manoj Kumar Agarwal highlighted that “every member of the BCCL family is an invaluable asset, and employee health remains our top priority.” He emphasized that modern innovations like the Health ATM Machine enhance accessibility, speed, and transparency in healthcare services, encouraging preventive care among employees and their families.

The newly installed health kiosk enables both invasive and non-invasive checkups. It facilitates blood tests, screenings for infections such as malaria, dengue, hepatitis B and C, and HIV, as well as routine tests for blood glucose, cholesterol, hemoglobin, and urine analysis. Non-invasive tests include blood pressure, oxygen level, temperature, heart rate, BMI, and body composition measurements—all within minutes.

Following the inauguration at the hospital, the CMD and directors visited the West Jharia Area General Manager’s office to inaugurate a newly built canteen for employees. This modern facility will provide nutritious meals and snacks to field workers at subsidized rates. Agarwal also interacted with employees, urging them to uphold cleanliness, discipline, and harmony at the workplace.

The day concluded with a friendly cricket match at the Officers Club, Munidih, where members of the top management, regional officials, and employees participated with great enthusiasm. A cultural evening followed, attended by employees and their families, wrapping up the day’s events in a spirit of camaraderie and joy.
