BCCL Set To Get New CMD On June 12, PESB Shortlists 12 Candidates For Interview
The vacancy is coming up with the superannuation of the present CMD, Samiran Dutta

Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, is set to get a new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) on June 12. Public Sector headhunter, The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has scheduled interviews for the position on the same day, following the upcoming superannuation of the current CMD, Samiran Dutta.
BCCL, headquartered in Dhanbad, plays a critical role in the coking coal supply chain of India, and the leadership transition comes at a pivotal time for the company.
A total of 12 candidates have been shortlisted and informed to appear for the final round of interviews. The contenders include senior executives from various subsidiaries of Coal India, other PSUs, and central services:

- Dr. Hemant S Pandey, Director (Personnel), Western Coalfields Limited (WCL)
- Manoj Kumar Agarwal, Director (Technical), BCCL
- Kalyan Prasad, General Manager, Central Coalfields Limited (CCL)
- Yogendra Prasad Shukla, Executive from Hindustan Organic Chemicals Limited
- Dibendu Das, Director (Finance), Engineering Projects India Ltd (EPIL)
- N.F. Jaikumar, Director (Technical), SECL
- Naveen Kumar Singh, Chief General Manager, Indian Railway Stores Service
- Rakesh Kumar Roshan, Officer, Indian Railway Traffic Service
The PESB’s decision on June 12 will determine the next CMD of BCCL, who will be tasked with leading the organization through an era of increased focus on coal production efficiency, environmental compliance, and strategic modernization.
