Plant Distribution & Chhath Celebration Held at BCCL under Special Campaign 5.0

Green drive meets devotion! 🌱☀️ BCCL marks Special Campaign 5.0 with sapling distribution and vibrant Chhath celebrations at Coal Bhawan and Mansarovar Pond

Under Special Campaign 5.0, Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) organized a tree distribution program and celebrated the grand festival of Chhath with devotion and enthusiasm at its Coal Bhawan Headquarters and Mansarovar Pond, Coal Nagar.

The day began with BCCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Manoj Kumar Agarwal, along with his family, offering prayers to the rising sun at the scenic Mansarovar Pond. His wife, Mrs. Archana Agarwal, has been observing the Chhath festival with complete devotion, purity, and traditional customs since 2017. This year too, she performed the rituals with faith, discipline, and reverence, celebrating the festival’s spirit of gratitude and harmony with nature.

The four-day Chhath festival concluded with arghya being offered to the rising sun, symbolizing the deep connection between faith, tradition, and nature. Director (Human Resources) Murali Krishna Ramaiah with his wife Mrs. Purbita Ramaiah, Chief Vigilance Officer Aman Raj with his wife Mrs. Neha Raj, and former Director (Finance) Rakesh Kumar Sahay with his family were also present. Senior officers, employees, and their families from BCCL Headquarters gathered in large numbers to participate in the ritual and offer prayers.

CMD Manoj Kumar Agarwal, while extending greetings, said that Chhath is a sacred ritual that instills discipline, reverence, and gratitude toward nature. He added that true happiness in life lies in balance, restraint, and dedication — values deeply embedded in the essence of Chhath Puja.

Earlier in the day, a tree distribution program was organized at the Coal Bhawan Headquarters as part of Special Campaign 5.0 to promote environmental protection and green initiatives. Presiding over the event, Director (HR) Shri Murali Krishna Ramaiah inaugurated the initiative by presenting a sapling to BCMU official R.K. Tiwari and distributing 400 saplings among the officers and employees of Coal Bhawan.

He motivated everyone to plant trees around their workplaces and residential areas and to take regular care of them. “Trees are the foundation of life, and collective participation in environmental protection is essential for a sustainable future,” he emphasized.

Members of Diksha Mahila Mandal, operating under Samarpan Mahila Samiti, also participated in the celebration. They performed puja, distributed fruits among Chhath devotees, and prayed for the organization’s prosperity, societal progress, and the welfare of all.

Through Special Campaign 5.0, BCCL continues to organize various initiatives focusing on cleanliness, waste management, recycling, and environmental conservation. The company remains dedicated to maintaining clean, green, and sustainable workplaces, reflecting not only industrial progress but also an enduring commitment to environmental and cultural responsibility.
