Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Launches ‘Mahila Samvad Program’
The program will be conducted across 70,000 locations over the next two months

In a significant move ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched the ‘Mahila Samvad Program’ on Friday. The initiative, spearheaded by the state’s Rural Development Department, aims to directly connect with women across Bihar and inform them about various government welfare schemes.

The program will be conducted across 70,000 locations over the next two months and is expected to engage around two crore women statewide.

Forty vehicles were flagged off as part of the campaign’s launch, set to travel across different blocks of Bihar.

Primarily involving the participation of Jeevika didis, the program focuses on empowering women socially and economically. Through this outreach, women will not only receive information about key schemes like the Prohibition of Liquor, Dowry Abolition, Child Marriage Prohibition, Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana, Chhatra Poshak Yojana, and Jeevika, but their feedback will also be collected to gauge the actual impact of these initiatives.

With women making up about 48 percent of Bihar’s electorate, the initiative is being seen as a strategic effort to strengthen Nitish Kumar’s traditional support base. Since the implementation of liquor prohibition in the state, women voters have largely favored Kumar, making them a crucial demographic in the run-up to elections.

The events will be held in morning and evening sessions, ensuring maximum participation and outreach across all districts.
