BPCL Hosts 28th Global Energy Technology Meet in Hyderabad, Showcasing Innovations in Sustainable Refining
The three-day event will serve as a convergence point for thought leadership and collaborative innovation

Public sector oil giant Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) is hosting the 28th Energy Technology Meet (ETM) in Hyderabad from October 28 to 30, 2025. The global platform brings together industry leaders, scientists, and innovators to deliberate on sustainable refining, energy transition, and emerging technologies that will shape the future of the energy sector.
The three-day event will serve as a convergence point for thought leadership and collaborative innovation aimed at driving sustainable and efficient refining operations across the global energy ecosystem.
In an official statement, BPCL said, “Following the remarkable momentum of the 27th ETM, which brought forth groundbreaking insights and forward-thinking dialogue, this year’s edition takes the conversation even further. The three dynamic days of thought leadership, transformative ideas, and collaborative energy solutions are expected to pave the way for a sustainable future.”
Zero Ka Dum Milestone Strengthens LPG Safety
The launch of the Energy Technology Meet follows BPCL’s major achievement in its LPG business — the nationwide expansion of the ‘Zero Ka Dum’ (ZKD) initiative, a pioneering third-party certification programme aimed at ensuring defect-free LPG cylinders across India.
Under this initiative, each LPG bottling plant undergoes a rigorous third-party certification audit conducted by independent agencies accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB). These comprehensive audits assess every stage of the cylinder’s journey — from the plant to the consumer — ensuring only high-quality and defect-free cylinders reach households.
Sanjay Khanna, Director (Refineries) with Additional Charge of Chairman & Managing Director, BPCL, said: “The ‘Zero Ka Dum’ initiative reflects BPCL’s unwavering commitment to operational excellence and customer safety. It is the result of relentless efforts by our LPG Business Unit to enhance plant operations and deliver defect-free cylinders to every household. This milestone stands as a testament to our culture of continuous improvement and our belief that true progress lies in the quality and care we extend to our customers.”
The milestone was commemorated at a special event held on October 16 at the BPCL Loni LPG Bottling Plant, attended by senior leadership, key stakeholders, distributors, and transporters.
Driving Innovation Through Technology and Sustainability
BPCL’s Energy Technology Meet is recognized as one of the most prestigious knowledge-sharing platforms in the oil and gas industry. The 28th edition is expected to witness participation from leading global experts, policymakers, and industry pioneers, focusing on sustainable refining, digital innovation, alternative fuels, and decarbonization strategies.
By integrating the success of the Zero Ka Dum initiative with its technological advancements in refining, BPCL continues to strengthen its position as a leader in energy transition and customer safety, setting new benchmarks in operational excellence and sustainability.
