CCL – “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”: Arpita Mahila Mandal Marks World Environment Day 2025 Fortnight With Tree Plantation Drive

As part of the initiative, 75 saplings were planted and more than 100 saplings were distributed

With the aim of fostering awareness and commitment towards environmental protection, Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), in collaboration with Arpita Mahila Mandal, successfully concluded the World Environment Day 2025 fortnight with a vibrant event at the Executive Hostel premises in Gandhi Nagar.

This year’s theme, “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, inspired by the campaign launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 5, 2024, served as a heartfelt tribute to Mother Earth and a call for collective responsibility toward sustainability.

Led by Preeti Singh, President of Arpita Mahila Mandal, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 250 members of the CCL family—including officers, employees, women, and children. As part of the initiative, 75 saplings were planted, and more than 100 saplings were distributed to encourage participants to grow trees at home and promote environmental stewardship.

In her motivational address, Singh emphasized the need to conserve natural resources and advocated for sustainable practices such as reusing fruit seeds and eliminating single-use plastics. “Protecting nature is our collective responsibility. Let us secure a greener, safer future for coming generations,” she stated.

The event also featured quiz competitions, cultural performances, and a grand prize distribution ceremony recognizing winners of various contests held throughout the fortnight.

Joining the event were Vice Presidents of Arpita Mahila Mandal— Rita Tiwari, Roopa Rani and Indu Mishra—who reiterated their commitment to environmental balance, women’s empowerment, and sustainable development.

The closing ceremony marked the culmination of the ‘Environmental Awareness Fortnight’ celebrated from June 1, further reinforcing CCL’s ongoing dedication to environmental sustainability and community engagement.
