Coal India Chairman Reviews BCCL’s Operational Performance at Coal Bhawan

In important review meeting focusing on the operational performance of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) was held today at Coal Bhawan headquarters under the chairmanship of Coal India Limited (CIL) Chairman, B. Sairam.
CIL Director (Marketing), Mukesh Choudhary, and Executive Director (Coordination), Alok Lalit, were also present at the meeting. The review was attended by all senior officials of BCCL, including CMD Manoj Kumar Agrawal, Directors, Regional General Managers, Heads of Departments, and senior officers from Coal Bhawan headquarters.

Among those present were Director (HR) Murali Krishna Ramaiah, Director (Technical – Project & Planning) Niladri Roy, OSD (Finance) Rajesh Kumar, General Manager (Coordination) Dhanraj Akhere, General Manager (Quality) Raj Kumar Agrawal, General Manager (Finance) M.S. Raju, General Manager (Sales & Marketing) Hitesh Verma, General Manager (Washery) Sohail Iqbal, along with all Regional General Managers and other senior officials and employees.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by CMD BCCL Manoj Kumar Agrawal, who outlined the objectives and significance of the meeting and briefed the Chairman on the company’s operational priorities and goals.
During the meeting, a comprehensive review was undertaken on key operational indicators, including coal production, washery performance, coal quality, sales and marketing, and financial performance. Detailed presentations were made through PowerPoint by GM (Coordination) Dhanraj Akhere, GM (Quality) Rajkumar Agrawal, GM (Sales & Marketing) Hitesh Verma, and OSD (Finance) Rajesh Kumar, highlighting progress achieved and key operational parameters.

Addressing the gathering, Sairam said that BCCL, as the country’s largest producer of coking coal, is a crucial unit of Coal India and plays a vital role in India’s industrial development. He emphasized that BCCL’s role in reducing dependence on imported coal is of national importance and stressed the need to maintain coal quality alongside production growth.
Highlighting the importance of strengthening and modernizing washery capacities, the Chairman said that the company must continuously work towards increasing the ratio of washery feed to washed coal. He also underlined the need to adopt modern technologies, innovation, and a market-oriented approach, while strengthening brand positioning, improving operational efficiency, and aligning operations with sustainable development goals.
In his address, CMD BCCL Manoj Kumar Agrawal reaffirmed the management’s commitment to operational excellence and assured that all directives and suggestions given during the meeting would be implemented to further enhance performance and achieve organizational objectives within stipulated timelines.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Director (HR) Murali Krishna Ramaiah, who expressed gratitude to the Chairman, CIL officials, and all participants on behalf of the BCCL management.
