Cooking Gas Becomes Costlier by ₹50, Confirms Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri
The Minister also hinted at potential revisions in the prices of petrol and diesel depending on market trends in the coming weeks

In a significant move impacting household budgets, the Union Government has increased the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders by ₹50. The announcement was made by Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, during a press conference on Monday.

The revised rates will come into effect from tomorrow, raising the cost of a cooking gas cylinder from ₹500 to ₹550 for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) beneficiaries, and from ₹803 to ₹853 for non-Ujjwala consumers.
“This ₹50 increase will be applicable to both Ujjwala and non-Ujjwala beneficiaries. However, the decision is not final and will be reviewed every 15 to 30 days,” said Minister Puri.
He also hinted at potential revisions in the prices of petrol and diesel depending on market trends in the coming weeks.
