Cooper Corporation And Sinfonia Technology Forge Strategic Alliance To Launch India’s First CPCB IV+ 10 kVA LPG Genset

The genset is compliant with CPCB IV+ norms, India’s most stringent emission standards

In a major development for India’s clean energy sector, Cooper Corporation, a leading Indian manufacturer of engines, gensets and tractors, has partnered with Japan’s Sinfonia Technology to launch the country’s first CPCB IV+ certified 10 kVA LPG genset, branded as the ‘Daimon Genset.’

This strategic collaboration marks a significant milestone in sustainable power generation, combining Indian manufacturing excellence with Japanese precision engineering. The Daimon Genset will be exclusively manufactured at Cooper Corporation’s advanced facility in Satara, Maharashtra, and jointly marketed across India and international markets including Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

The genset – model CSG-0010L-IN – is powered by an indigenously developed lean-burn gas engine designed in collaboration with Ricardo, UK. It features a compact V-Twin 2-cylinder engine, Electronic Engine Management System (EEMS), Isochronous Governing, and super silent operation. Running on LPG, the genset offers reduced emissions, high fuel efficiency, and low operational costs, making it an eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative to traditional diesel generators.

The branding reflects the Indo-Japanese partnership’s cultural synergy – ‘Daimon’, named after the town of Sinfonia’s headquarters in Japan, and ‘Satara’, under which the genset will be sold in Japan, honoring Cooper’s home base in Maharashtra.

Mr. Farrokh N. Cooper, Chairman & Managing Director, Cooper Corporation, said: “This partnership with Sinfonia Technology marks a purposeful step towards reshaping the energy landscape with cleaner, smarter solutions. The Daimon Genset reflects our belief in the power of collaboration, where Japanese precision and Indian engineering converge.”

Mr. Makoto Saito, General Manager, Social Infrastructure System Sales Department, Sinfonia Technology, added: “Our collaboration with Cooper Corporation underscores our shared vision of delivering sustainable, high-efficiency power solutions. The Daimon Genset sets a new standard in clean energy accessibility.”

The genset is compliant with CPCB IV+ norms, India’s most stringent emission standards, and is tailored for urban and rural deployments across sectors such as microgrids, education, retail, and industry.

With this launch, Cooper Corporation and Sinfonia Technology reaffirm their commitment to environmental stewardship and the global transition toward cleaner, more efficient energy solutions.
