Engineers India Limited On Road To Transforming Business Globally With A Robust Financial Performance In Fiscal Year 2024-25

In the year 2024-25, EIL celebrated its 60 years of dedicated service to the nation. This milestone reflects EIL’s enduring legacy with the trust of our stakeholders and our pivotal role in the indigenization of India’s hydrocarbon sector. As we navigate the dynamic energy sector of today, EIL remains steadfast in delivering sustainable, cutting-edge solutions that align with national priorities.

Order Inflow and Financial Performance

The company’s financial performance demonstrates resilience and robust financial stability. In the year 2024-25, we secured an order inflow of ₹ 8214 crore, which is an all-time high in EIL’s journey so far, leading to a robust order book position standing around ₹ 12400 crore. The share of its diversified business segments has increased significantly with around 36% of the order inflow shared by energy efficient infrastructure segment in the past fiscal, which includes high-end data centres, state-of-the-art laboratories, and academic complexes,
among others.

In the previous fiscal, the PSU secured around 36% of its business through competitive bidding with the share of consultancy standing at around 56% of the order inflow in the fiscal.

The contribution of order inflow from international businesses grew significantly reaching around ₹1077 crore, the highest in the last decade, resonating well with EIL’s key strategic growth pillar of expanding geographies. The FY 2024–25 has proven to be a landmark year in EIL’s journey so far, with the organization’s standalone Profit After Tax (PAT) reaching ₹ 465 crore, the highest in the last ten years. This clearly underscores the enhanced value that the company generates for its shareholders.

Enhancing Business Beyond Domestic Boundary

EIL has advanced its global footprint and project portfolio in recent years. The successful commissioning and smooth operation of the Dangote Oil Refinery Project in Nigeria reflects the company’s pivotal role in execution of mega projects overseas, advancing the ‘Local to Global’ vision of the Honourable Prime Minister of India.

It is important to note that our ongoing engagements in Mongolia, a Line of Credit (LoC) has made significant progress that is testament of company’s capabilities to execute projects in harsh climatic conditions. In addition, the company has made strides in its engagements with
BAPCO in Bahrain, KNPC in Kuwait, PDO in Oman, projects in LNG & petrochemical sector in Africa and power plant project in Guyana among others.

EIL has a clear vision for growth in the UAE. In the past few years, the EIL Abu Dhabi office has undergone significant expansion to support localization efforts and enhance In-Country Value (ICV), enabling it to better serve UAE clients directly from the local office. Since then, the office has grown steadily, becoming a fully independent, self-sustained, and empowered operation with dedicated resources and facilities. EIL also has plans to further expand this office, with the goal of transforming it into a regional hub to serve diverse clients in the MENA region.

The work for opening another foreign office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is in progress to tap the business opportunities from Oil & Gas behemoths in the region, signifying EIL’s expanding global footprint.

Growing Green Business

Dedication to green business practices and environmental stewardship remains the foundation of EIL. EIL has multidisciplinary experience in the Design & Detailed Engineering of large and critical assets and has a pool of BEE Certified Energy managers and Auditors to assess and implement energy conservation initiatives.

The company is leading the transition to cleaner energy by foraying in the area of biofuels. Implementation of one of largest capacities Biorefinery projects in India for Assam Biorefinery Private Limited (ABRPL) is nearing completion. Additionally, the company is leading the development of a PFR for a 2G Ethanol (bamboo-based bio refinery) project for NRL in Meghalaya and a DFR of 2G ethanol plant for NTPC.

EIL is also spearheading the initiatives to set up Bio-ATF plants in India in Collaboration with CSIR-IIP and is implementing a 20 KLPD capacity Bio-ATF facility for MRPL. EIL’s role has also been critical in implementing various pipeline projects and LNG terminals in the country to enhance the availability of natural gas for various applications across the nation.

EIL has been a frontrunner in implementing projects related to Green Hydrogen as well both for its production through electrolyzers and assessment of blending hydrogen in the existing natural gas pipelines. EIL provided EPCM services to GAIL for the execution of the balance
of plant (BoP) and associated facilities for the installation of a 10 MW green hydrogen production facility in Vijaipur, Uttar Pradesh, which has already been commissioned.

Collaboration as Key to Business Growth

Collaborative growth is one of the cornerstones of the company’s strategic framework. To this effect, EIL has declared 2024 as the ‘Year of Collaboration’, reinforcing its focus on cultivating new alliances. EIL has forged several MoUs and MoAs with reputed academic institutions, national laboratories and industries in the areas of cutting-edge technologies to lay the groundwork for both present and future business opportunities. Some of them include our recent MoU with international companies like British Petroleum (BP) for global collaboration across multiple energy domains, including refining, terminals, pipelines, and operational developments in the oil & gas sector during India Energy Week (IEW) 2025 in the august presence of Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG).

The partnership with Sunrise CSP Group positions the company at the vanguard of Solar Concentrated Technology. Additionally, the company executed an MoU with Munition India Limited (MIL) signifying a major leap into the defense sector with a focus on facility modernization. EIL entered into an MoU with Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) for a collaborative partnership to provide comprehensive services and solutions in identified Projects in the Railway Infrastructure, such as Railway Station Redevelopment, Buildings, Tunnels and other infrastructure projects in India and abroad.

To enhance our digital technology offerings, EIL executed an MoU with M/s Detect Technologies Private Limited, through an Expression of Interest, to offer AI based Video Analytics to enhance safety at construction sites. In addition, our DTS division has developed in-house capabilities in the area of digitalisation and automation to assist the industry in implementing AI based interventions for optimizing their existing assets.

In its efforts towards indigenization and Atmanirbharta in the energy sector, EIL has added 11 indigenous suppliers for items wherein no Indian supplier was enlisted before and enlisted 3 Indian subsidiaries of foreign suppliers to promote Make in India (MII) initiative. Further, 46 MSME suppliers were also enlisted in the year 2024-25. Notably, the domestic supplies have significantly increased to 95% in the refinery sector and 82% in the petrochemical segment.

This year, we broadened our support for startups by introducing an equity investment route, complementing the existing grant-based funding model. A total fund of more than ₹ 20 crore has already been committed by the company in the seven rounds of funding and more than ₹ 12 crore has been disbursed to a variety of start-up initiatives under EngSUI policy to support the innovation ecosystem in the nation.

Technology & Innovation

Notably, EIL’s technology portfolio has been expanding in the past few years, that can be reflected in the number of IPRs generated by the company. For instance, 27 patents and 3 trademark applications were filed by the company in the previous fiscal year, covering diversified thematic areas, including the ongoing energy transition aligned with the company’s business interests.

Further, EIL is registered for Technology Licensing with ADNOC for Technologies of Sulphur Recovery Unit (SRU) Claus, Tail Gas Treating Units (TGTU), Oxygen enrichment, LPG Treating Unit, Gas Sweetening Unit (GSU) etc. Building on its success and reinforcing its strong in-house R&D and collaborative technology development expertise, EIL is committed to delivering innovative, cost-effective solutions tailored to its diverse clients. Corporate Social Responsibility

At EIL, Corporate Social Responsibility is not just simply a compliance but a way of taking the society forward hand-in-hand with Business Growth. The company has consistently contributed to social development through its robust CSR initiatives across key focus areas such as healthcare, education, skill development, women’s empowerment, and environmental protection fully aligned with the Government of India’s policies.

Under each thrust area, EIL has contributed immensely towards inclusive community development. For instance, the company has established 140 Model Anganwadi Centres in Dhubri, Assam, addressing malnutrition among 8,000 children and women. Additionally, mobile medical vans have been deployed to provide doorstep primary healthcare services to over 25,000 people residing in remote villages of Barmer, Rajasthan. The company has supported the construction of a state-of-the-art government school building ensuring quality education infrastructure for underprivileged children. In recent years, the company has supported over 5000 Divyangjans (persons with disabilities) across India by providing assistive aids and appliances aimed at their upliftment so that they could be part of the larger community cohort and become empowered to fulfill their needs. In the previous fiscal, the Company conferred with prestigious industry accolades. EIL was conferred with the OIDB Awards for Indigenous Technology Development for the development of Indigenous Desalter Technology and the development of Reference Fuels. The company also achieved the Energy Excellence Award 2025 for its outstanding achievement in R&D and Innovation at the Oil, Gas & Power World Expo 2025. In addition, the company bagged more than 15 awards from reputed institutions in various categories, including Global CSR Award, PSE Excellence Award, CIDC Vishwakarma Award, Sustainability Award, Prestigious PMI south Asia Project of the Year Awards, and Golden Peacock Award, to name a few. These honours not only validate the company’s leadership and innovation but also reinforce its role as a prominent and forward-thinking entity in the industry.
