Environment And Forest Department, CCL Organizes Cleanliness Drive To Mark World Environment Day 2025
This initiative was aligned with this year’s global theme – “End Plastic Pollution”

As part of the week-long celebrations to commemorate World Environment Day 2025, the Environment and Forest Department of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) today spearheaded a large-scale cleanliness drive at Karam Toli Pond and Line Tank area in Ranchi. This initiative was aligned with this year’s global theme – “End Plastic Pollution” – underscoring CCL’s unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability.
The drive was jointly led by Rajkumar, General Manager & Head of Department (Environment), and P.K. Sinha, General Manager (Forest). Officers and employees from the Environment Department participated with enthusiasm, showcasing a strong sense of responsibility towards ecological preservation and community welfare.
Notable attendees included Sangeeta (General Manager, Environment), G. Srinivas (Chief Manager, Environment), Rajat Thakur and Swati Singh (Manager, Environment), G. Vidya Sagar, Rajeev Kumar, and Nitesh Sinha (Deputy Manager, Environment), along with Shubham Suyash (Assistant Manager, Environment). Other team members including Irfan Ali Khan, Pancham Munda, Laxman, Shahnawaz Alam, and Sansun Nisha also contributed significantly to the initiative.

During the drive, plastic and other non-biodegradable waste was removed from the water bodies and surrounding areas, with the aim of restoring the ecological balance and natural beauty of these urban water sources.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajkumar lauded the collective efforts of the team, stating, “We at CCL are continually striving to build a clean, green, and plastic-free future.” P.K. Sinha further emphasized the importance of conserving urban water sources and highlighted the urgent need to foster environmental awareness and civic responsibility among the public.
This cleanliness drive stands as a testament to CCL’s proactive approach towards sustainable development and its role as a responsible subsidiary of Coal India Limited.
