Fortunately, the fire was quickly brought under control, and Indian Oil confirmed that refinery operations continued without disruption.
There have been two incidents of fire at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) facilities in one week. The first was a tank fire at the 13.7 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) Gujarat refinery that tragically resulted in two deaths and two injuries. Later in the week, another fire occurred at IOC’s Mathura refinery, leading to burn injuries for eight individuals. Fortunately, the injured at Mathura are reported to be in stable condition and are receiving medical treatment. According to IOCL officials, no damage was sustained by the plant and machinery in Mathura and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of this incident.
