GeM Organises Bootcamp In Dehradun To Amplify Adoption In Uttarakhand
Currently, nearly 20,000 sellers and service providers from Uttarakhand are registered on GeM
The Government e Marketplace (GeM) organised a day-long boot camp, “GeM Seller Samvad 2024 Uttarakhand” on 16th December, 2024, at IRDT Auditorium, Dehradun.
Aligned with GeM’s core pillar of Inclusivity, the event sought to identify and address various challenges faced by Uttarakhand’s based sellers, entrepreneurs, FPOs etc. in effectively navigating the GeM portal. It was instrumental in raising awareness and driving adoption of the portal among the region’s sellers and service providers. The Samvad witnessed enthusiastic participation of more than 60 sellers and service providers for the region.
During the Samvad, comprehensive training sessions were conducted to provide stakeholders with a nuanced understanding of digital capabilities, features and functionalities of the GeM platform. Key milestones of the seller journey were thoroughly discussed and numerous queries of stakeholders were resolved instantly during informative Q&A sessions
A dedicated GeM helpdesk for prompt handholding was operationalised at the event. A registration drive was also conducted to onboard new sellers and service providers onto the GeM ecosystem.
Currently, nearly 20,000 sellers and service providers from Uttarakhand are registered on GeM. Of this, 10,500+ MSEs and over 1900 women-led enterprises are leveraging GeM to amplify their reach among 1.5 lakh + of government buyers. As of 11th December, 2024, orders worth over ₹ 8950 Crore on GeM have been fulfilled by Uttarakhand – based sellers for government buyers across the country. Remarkably, ~50% of this share is contributed by State’s MSEs.
Focused on expanding its outreach and amplifying capacity-building measures in the State, the Samvad was proposed to enhance outreach and amplify capacity-building measures. “Such initiatives are pertinent in spreading awareness and bolstering the digital capabilities of the region’s sellers & service providers,” stated A.V. Muralidharan, Chief a buyer Officer (State).
By empowering them with the tools and knowledge to leverage a tech-powered infrastructure, GeM Seller Samvad aims to remove traditional barriers and foster greater participation of local entrepreneurs in business-to-government opportunities.
