Harish Duhan Selected As New CMD Of SECL
Duhan is currently serving as Director (Technical) in Central Coalfields Limited
Harish Duhan has been selected as the new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited. The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) conducted interviews for the position on December 07, 2024, following which Duhan’s name was recommended for the role.
Currently serving as Director (Technical) in Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), another subsidiary of Coal India, Duhan is set to take over the CMD role at SECL after formal orders are issued by the Ministry of Coal and Coal India Limited.
The CMD position at SECL is classified as a Schedule B post. The selection process saw participation from 11 senior officials from various organizations, including:

- Rajneesh Narayan, Director (Finance), Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL)

- Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mining), Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC)
- Satyendra Rai, Executive Director, National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC)
- Naveen Kumar Singh, Chief General Manager, Indian Railway Stores Service
- Praveen Kumar Pandey, Chief General Manager, Munitions India Limited
Harish Duhan assumed the role of Director (Technical) at CCL in November 2023, prior to which he served as a General Manager at NCL.
