HPCL Maintains Uninterrupted Fuel & LPG Supply Nationwide; Intensifies Action Against Malpractices

HPCL conducted over 4,028 inspections between March 14 and April 4, 2026, taking action against 53 distributors, including the suspension of 20 distributorships

HPCL has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted supply of fuel and LPG across India, even amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainties impacting global energy markets.

The company reported robust operational performance, with the sale of 38,986 KL (over 3.8 crore litres) of petrol and 69,357 KL (over 6.9 crore litres) of diesel on April 4, 2026. HPCL served more than 1.94 crore customers in a single day, supported by the dispatch of 9,951 fuel tankers to retail outlets nationwide.

LPG Supply Remains Stable

In the LPG segment, HPCL maintained normal distribution levels, delivering over 14.4 lakh LPG cylinders on the same day. Additionally, the company supplied 31,786 units of 5 kg cylinders and 2,383 units of 2 kg cylinders under the free trade LPG category.

HPCL emphasized that domestic LPG supply remains stable, adequate, and under continuous monitoring, with priority being given to household consumption.

Digital Adoption Strengthens Delivery

The company highlighted the growing adoption of digital platforms for LPG bookings, with around 94% of customers using channels such as IVRS, SMS, missed calls, HP Pay, and WhatsApp. Deliveries are secured through DAC/OTP-based authentication, ensuring transparency and safety.

Customers can also seek assistance through HPCL’s official web portal, social media platforms, or toll-free helpline.

Crackdown on Malpractices

In a significant enforcement drive, HPCL conducted over 4,028 inspections between March 14 and April 4, 2026, taking action against 53 distributors, including the suspension of 20 distributorships.

The company, in coordination with other Oil Marketing Companies and state authorities, has also:

  • Conducted 653 raids
  • Registered 40 FIRs
  • Seized over 3,163 LPG cylinders

HPCL has urged consumers to:

  • Book LPG refills only as required
  • Avoid panic buying
  • Ignore unverified rumours
  • Rely solely on official communications

Reiterating its commitment, HPCL stated that there is no shortage of LPG or fuel supplies and assured continued focus on efficient distribution, transparency, and strict enforcement against irregularities.
