More than 40 participants from nearly 20 organisations, including both public and private sector enterprises, attended the workshop

Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) and GIZ Germany, organised an Outreach Workshop on Climate Action Goals under the Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT) — a global initiative focused on industry decarbonisation and low-carbon transformation.

The workshop was graced by eminent speakers including Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE; Shantanu Roy, CMD, BEML and Member, SCOPE Executive Board; Tajender Gupta, Director (Power), BHEL; Ruchika Drall, Deputy Secretary (Climate Change), MoEFCC; Cecilia Tall, Counsellor, Innovation & Science, Embassy of Sweden; Sebastian Borchmeyer, First Secretary, German Embassy in India; and Dr. Alexander Fisher, Project Lead, International Climate Initiative (IKI), GIZ.

The event brought together senior government officials, PSU leaders, representatives from the private sector, and international delegates from Sweden and Germany to deliberate on leveraging the LeadIT platform for global cooperation, innovation, and financial strategies to accelerate the transition of heavy industries toward low-carbon pathways.

More than 40 participants from nearly 20 organisations, including both public and private sector enterprises, attended the workshop.

The Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT) was launched at the UN Climate Action Summit in 2019 and is supported by the World Economic Forum. The initiative aims to foster partnerships between countries and companies to achieve net-zero carbon emissions from heavy industries by 2050, promoting sustainable growth and environmental resilience.
