IIM Jammu Inaugurates Onsite Business Communication & Presentation Skills Programme for HAL Officials in Bengaluru
The four-day programme underscores IIM Jammu’s commitment to industry-aligned executive education and reinforces its focus on leadership excellence, digital readiness, and national capacity building

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu inaugurated a four-day Onsite Business Communication & Presentation Skills Programme for officials of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) at the HAL Management Academy, Bengaluru, on Tuesday. The programme is aimed at strengthening strategic communication, executive presence, and high-impact presentation capabilities among senior professionals of the Maharatna PSU.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, who addressed the gathering in online mode. Shri Arup Kumar Mallick, Executive Director, HAL Management Academy (DPSU), graced the occasion in person, while Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean (Faculty & Research) and Prof. Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson (Executive Education & Consulting), IIM Jammu, joined virtually.
Faculty members Dr. Gaana J. and Dr. Sundar R. (Programme Directors), Dr. Apurva, and programme coordinator Rajashree (HAL) were present during the inaugural session.
Addressing the participants, Arup Kumar Mallick underlined the strategic relevance of the programme in enhancing leadership communication and reinforcing industry–academia collaboration. He highlighted HAL’s legacy, its critical role in nation building, and its contribution to India’s aerospace and defence ecosystem.
In his address, Prof. B.S. Sahay described HAL’s contribution to national capability development as “remarkable” and said the collaboration reflects IIM Jammu’s commitment to supporting strategic public sector organisations. He emphasised the importance of continuous learning, innovation-driven leadership, and knowledge co-creation in building globally competitive PSUs.
Prof. Jabir Ali noted that the programme has been uniquely designed by integrating best practices from leading academic institutions with contemporary industry frameworks. He stressed the discussion-driven and dialectic pedagogy aimed at translating learning into organisational impact.
Reiterating IIM Jammu’s focus on long-term engagement with HAL, Prof. Sanjeev Pathak said executive education and consulting play a vital role in helping organisations navigate complex business and technological transformations.
The programme goes beyond conventional presentation skills, integrating digital tools, visual storytelling, behavioural insights, executive presence development, and advanced communication frameworks. Participants will engage in experiential learning through live presentations, peer reviews, design labs, and hands-on use of platforms such as Canva, Prezi, GenAI tools, Power BI, and Tableau.
The training is being delivered by a distinguished faculty team comprising Dr. Gaana J., Dr. Apurva, Dr. Sundar R., and Dr. Chinmaya Kumar Swain, with Dr. Gaana J. and Dr. Sundar R. serving as Programme Directors.
