Vacancy Details
IOCL has announced recruitment for Engineer/Officer positions in several key engineering disciplines. The exact number of vacancies for each post has not been disclosed in the official notification but is expected to be announced soon.

Educational Qualification
Candidates must have a full-time B.Tech./BE or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
General/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates need a minimum of 65% marks.
SC/ST/PwBD candidates need a minimum of 55% marks.

Selection Process
The selection process is designed to find the best candidates and has three main stages. You need to qualify in each stage to move to the next.
Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)
This is an online objective test of 150 minutes. It will have 100 questions in total.
Pattern: The test has two sections.
Section A (Domain Knowledge): 50 questions from your engineering discipline (Chemical, Electrical, or Instrumentation).
Section B (General Aptitude): 50 questions, including Quantitative Aptitude (20), Logical Reasoning (15), and Verbal Ability (15).
Marking Scheme: Each question carries 1 mark. For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
Qualifying Marks: You need to score minimum qualifying marks in each section and overall to be considered for the next stage.
Stage 2: Group Discussion (GD) & Group Task (GT)
Candidates who clear the CBT will be called for a Group Discussion and Group Task. Here, your communication skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities will be assessed.
Stage 3: Personal Interview (PI)
The final stage is a Personal Interview with a panel of experts from IOCL. This is where they assess your technical knowledge, personality, and suitability for the role of an officer. The final merit list will be prepared based on your combined score in the CBT (85% weightage), GD/GT (5% weightage), and PI (10% weightage).
