SAIL Interim CMD: Krishna Kumar Singh, Director (Personnel) gets charge for three months
The proposal for Dr. Panda’s appointment is presently under consideration with the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet

In a key interim development at Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Krishna Kumar Singh, Director (Personnel), has been assigned the additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD).
This temporary arrangement comes as the appointment process for a full-time CMD is currently underway. Earlier, the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) had recommended Dr. Ashok Kumar Panda, Director (Finance), SAIL, for the top post.
The proposal for Dr. Panda’s appointment is presently under consideration with the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), which is responsible for final approval of senior-level appointments in central public sector enterprises.
SAIL, one of India’s largest steel producers, continues to maintain operational continuity under the interim leadership, with expectations that a final decision on the CMD appointment will be taken following ACC clearance.
