Large Scale Appointments Of Joint Secretaries In Government Of India

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the following appointments of officers at Joint Secretary I Joint Secretary equivalent level with pay at Level 14 of the Pay Matrix :

(1) Appointment of Shri Franklin L Khobung, IFoS (GJ:1998), as Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Ms. Namita J Priyadarshee, IFoS (RJ:1989);

(2) Appointment of Shri Pankaj Yadav, lAS (HY:2001), as Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Ms. Shomita Biswas, IFoS (MH:1988);

(3) Appointment of Shri Rahul Sharma, lAS (JH:1998), as Joint Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri D Senthil Pandiyan, IAS(UD : 2002);

(4) Appointment of Shri Ajay Yadav, lAS (TN:2006), as Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of seven years upto 10/11/2023 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Amandeep Garg AS (HP:1999);

(5) Appointment of Shri Deepak Mishra, lFoS (KL:1996), as Joint Secretary, Department of Chemicals & Petro-Chemicals, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Kashi Nath Jha IP&TA&FS (1994);

(6) Appointment of Ms. Indu C Nair, IRAS (2001), as Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of seven years upto 11/04/2024 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, by temporarily upgrading the post of Director held by the officer, to be further adjustable against a regular vacancy of Joint Secretary in the Department;

(7) Appointment of Shri Gurmeet Singh Chawla, IRAS (1998), as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Partha Sarthi Sensharma, lAS (UP: 94);

(8) Appointment of Ms. Mugdha Sinha, lAS (RJ:1999), as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Madnesh Kumar Mishra, IRS (lT:1990);

(9) Appointment of Shri Ajay Kumar, lAS (GJ:2006), as Joint Secretary, Department of Defence, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of five years upto 14/07/2024 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Sanjai Singh, ICAS (1993);

(10) Appointment of Shri Manoj Kumar Sahoo, lAS (UT:2006), as Joint Secretary, Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of seven years upto 16/12/2023 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Arun Baroka, AS (UT:90);

(11) Appointment of Shri D Senthil Pandiyan, lAS (UD : 2002), as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of five years upto 23/05/2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Ms. Indira Murthy, CSS;

(12) Appointment of Shri Hanish Chhabra, lAS (TN:2006), as Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of seven years upto 14/12/2022 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Ms. Manisha Sinha, IPoS (1992);

(13) Appointment of Ms. Surbhi Jam, IES (2001), as Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of five years upto 09/08/2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Anand Mohan Bajaj, IA&AS (90);

(14) Appointment of Shri Ajay Bhadoo, lAS (GJ:1999), as Deputy Election Commissioner, Election Commission of India, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of five years upto 24/07/2024 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Chandra Bhushan Kumar, lAS (UT:95);

(15) Appointment of Shri Akash Tripathi, lAS (MP:1998), as CEO, MyGov, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Abhishek Singh, lAS (NL:95);

(16) Appointment of Shri Satyajit Mishra, CSS, as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure up to his superannuation on 31/05/2027 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Jigmet Takpa IFoS (JK:1990);

(17) Appointment of Shri Mukesh Kumar Bansal, lAS (CG:2005), as Joint Secretary, Department of Financial Services, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of five years upto 10/03/2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Ms. Vandita Kaul, lPoS(1989);

(18) Appointment of Ms. T. J. Kavitha, IFoS (RJ:2000), as Joint Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Ms. Mukta Shekhar, IRAS (1994);

(19) Appointment of Shri Sachin Mittal, IPoS (2000), as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of seven years upto 21/06/2023 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Vikas Sheel, lAS (CG:94);

(21) Appointment of Shri Basant Garg, lAS (PB:2005), as Additional CEO, National Health Authority under the Department of Health & Family Welfare, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of five years upto 10/09/2024 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, against an existing vacancy;

(22) Appointment of Shri Hanif Qureshi, IPS (HY:1996), as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Ms. Nidhi Chhibber, lAS (CG:94);

(23) Appointment of Shri Ravi Kumar Arora, lAS (GJ:2006), as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of five years upto 04/08/2024 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Ved Prakash, IRSE (Civil) (1988);

(26) Appointment of Shri Rupesh Kumar Thakur, lAS (UT: 2006), as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of five years upto 11/03/2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Ajay Tewari, lAS (AM:93);

(27) Appointment of Ms. Nandita Gupta, lAS (HP : 2001), as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of five years upto 14/12/2022 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri R.K. Gupta, CSS;

(28) Appointment of Ms. Farida Mahmood Naik, CSS, as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Mines, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Satendra Singh, lAS (JH:1995);

(29) Appointment of Shri Ajay Yadav, lAS (BH : 2005), as Joint Secretary, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of five years upto 11/12/2022, which is further extendable for two years on availability of Cadre Clearance or until further orders, whichever is earlier, by temporarily upgrading a vacant post of Director in the Ministry to Joint Secretary level vice Ms. Vandana Kumar, IDAS (1992);

(30) Appointment of Shri Rajat Kumar, lAS (CG:2005), as Joint Secretary, Department of Personnel & Training, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a combined tenure of five years upto 21/08/2024 or until further orders, whichever is earlier;

(31) Appointment of Ms. Priyanka Basu lngty, lAS (HP : 2004), as Regional Director (JS level), SSC, Kolkata under the Department of Personnel & Training, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of seven years upto 03/04/2023 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, by temporarily upgrading the post of Regional Director (Director level), SSC, Kolkata held by the officer to Joint Secretary level;

(32) Appointment of Shri Mohammad Afzal, CPES (1995), as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Vishal Kapoor, IRSME (1995);

(33) Appointment of Shri Amit Shukla, IFoS (TR:1999), as Joint Secretary, Department of Rural Development, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of five years upto 01/06/2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Biswajit Banerjee, lFoS (UP:1991);

(34) AppoIntment of Ms. Indira Murthy, CSS, as Joint Secretary, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure upto her superannuation on 30/04/2023 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Surendra Singh, lAS (JH:93);

(35) Appointment of Shri Lochan Sehra, lAS (GJ:2002), as Joint Secretary, IN-SPACe, Ahmedabad, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
