Last Date to Opt for Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) Draws Near
Eligible NPS Subscribers Must Apply by November 30
The Ministry of Finance has reminded all eligible Central Government employees and NPS subscribers that November 30, 2025, is the final deadline to opt for the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS). The option is available to both serving employees and past retirees who are currently under the National Pension System (NPS).
The UPS was formally notified through Notification F. No. FX-1/3/2024-PR dated 24 January 2025, introducing significant pension-related benefits and flexibility for Central Government personnel.
Two Ways to Submit the UPS Option
- Online submission via the CRA system, or
- Physical submission of a duly filled UPS application form to their respective Nodal Office.
All Nodal Offices have been directed to process the applications strictly as per the standard procedures laid down by the Ministry.

The last date to opt for UPS: 30 November 2025. No requests will be entertained after this date.
