Launch Of Short Translation Training Program At CCL Headquarters

Five-Day Training Initiative Aims to Boost Administrative Efficiency through Hindi Translation Proficiency

A five-day short translation training program commenced today at the Prakash Auditorium, Headquarters of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL). Scheduled from June 2 to June 6, 2025, the program is jointly organized by the Official Language Department of CCL and the Central Translation Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

This initiative aims to enhance the quality, accuracy, and ease of Hindi translation in administrative functions. The participants will receive hands-on and procedural training through two structured sessions each day, equipping them with practical expertise in translation work.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Kavita Gupta, General Manager (Manpower) and Shahid Jamal, Chief Manager (HR), who warmly welcomed the invited experts with bouquets, shawls, and coconuts. In her address, Mrs. Gupta emphasized CCL’s ongoing efforts towards the effective implementation of the Official Language Policy. Jamal noted that such training programs not only build administrative competence but also foster self-evaluation and linguistic sensitivity among employees.

The training sessions are being led by two Assistant Directors from the Central Translation Bureau— Lekha Sareen and Dr. Mohan Chandra Bahuguna. On the first day, participants engaged in sessions covering topics such as ‘Official Language Policy of the Union’ and ‘Use of Technical Tools in Office Translation’. Both experts are providing valuable insights into the intricacies of translation, the language structure of official documents, and methods to avoid common translation errors.

The program will culminate on June 6, 2025, with the distribution of training certificates to all participants. This initiative not only highlights CCL’s commitment to promoting the Official Language but also plays a vital role in enhancing the linguistic competence of its workforce.
