Launch Of “Swachhta Pakhwada” In CCL, 15-Day Special Campaign Started With Cleanliness Oath
The aim of all these efforts is to make cleanliness an essential part of lifestyle and not just a campaign

“Swachhta Pakhwada” organized under “Swachh Bharat Mission” was inaugurated today at Gangotri Convention Center located at Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) headquarters. This 15-day special cleanliness campaign will be run from 16 June to 30 June 2025. The program was started by CCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Nilendu Kumar Singh by administering the ‘Swachhta Shapath’ to the employees.
On this occasion, CMD Nilendu Kumar Singh along with Director (Human Resources) Shri Harsh Nath Mishra, Director (Technical/Operations) Shri Chandra Shekhar Tiwari, Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Pankaj Kumar and General Managers, Heads of Departments, officers and employees of various departments were present.
After the oath, in his address, N.K. Singh said that “Cleanliness is not just a program, but a moral and social responsibility of every citizen. We have to make it a part of our daily life. Swachhta Pakhwada is not just a campaign for us, but a resolution – for clean thinking, clean workplace and clean environment. He said that our work is not complete just by being clean ourselves. We have to make others aware of cleanliness and explain its benefits. Only when cleanliness becomes a collective habit, we will be able to move towards a healthy, strong and developed India.”

The objective of “Swachhta Pakhwada” is to increase public awareness towards cleanliness and inspire mass participation. This year’s theme is “Cleanliness is everyone’s responsibility” which calls for active participation of citizens, employees and communities in this campaign.
Major activities to be organised under the campaign
- Organizing cleanliness pledge
- Public awareness campaign against single use plastic
- Distribution of jute and cloth bags (in markets and rural areas)
- Spreading cleanliness message through street plays
- Cleaning of selected mines, office premises and departments
- Installation of dustbins for proper disposal of garbage
- Cleaning of water sources, toilets, hospitals and dispensaries
- Plantation and distribution of saplings in nearby villages
