MGL Conducts Emergency Mock Drill at Taloja City Gate Station to Strengthen Crisis Preparedness
The large-scale drill, conducted in coordination with multiple government and emergency response agencies, aimed to enhance safety readiness and compliance at MGL’s Taloja CNG RO

Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) conducted a major emergency mock drill at its City Gate Station (CGS) located at Taloja CNG Retail Outlet (RO) on October 7, 2025. The exercise was organized to reaffirm the team’s responsiveness during crisis situations and to meet regulatory safety and emergency preparedness requirements.
The drill simulated a scenario involving gas leakage leading to a fire in a CNG Transport Vehicle (CTV) during filling operations at the station. The situation also involved the associated piping network, providing a realistic test of response time, coordination, and the appropriateness of actions taken by the teams on-site.
The exercise was conducted with active participation from multiple agencies, including the Taloja Fire Brigade, Police and Traffic Police departments, Mutual Aid Response Group (MARG), District Disaster Management Cell (Raigad), Taloja Manufacturer’s Association, Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH), and GAIL authorities. Each organization effectively executed its assigned role in managing the simulated emergency.
Following the successful completion of the drill, representatives from the Fire Brigade, Police, and MARG shared their observations and constructive feedback on further improving crisis-handling measures. A senior representative from the District Disaster Management Cell was also present to witness the proceedings.
MGL’s efficient response and coordination during the mock exercise were highly appreciated by all participating authorities, reinforcing the company’s commitment to safety excellence and preparedness.
