Ministry Of MSME And NTPC Organize Vendor Development Programme-cum-Exhibition of Products

Stalls exhibiting products of participating MSEs along with the products required by various CPSUs/PSUs on display

MSME-Development & Facilitation Office, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, Okhla, New Delhi organised Vendor Development Programme-cum-Exhibition of Products in association with NTPC Limited at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Mayur Vihar, Delhi on 17 th & 18 th October, 2023.

The programme cum exhibition was inaugurated by Ms. Ashwini Lal, Additional Development Commissioner, O/o DC (MSME), Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Sh. H. K. Dash, Executive Director, NTPC has graced the occasion as Guest of Honor. Dr. R. K. Bharti, Joint Director/ HOO, MSME-DFO, Okhla, New Delhi accompanied them to the stalls exhibiting the products of participating MSEs along with the products required by various CPSUs/PSUs.

Shri D.S. Tomer, Assistant Director, MSME-DFO, New Delhi, co-ordinator of the programme greeted and welcomed the dignitaries and the participants and briefed about the purpose and schedule of the two-day VDP. In the welcome speech Dr. R.K. Bharti, Joint Director/HOO, MSME-DFO, New Delhi, briefed about the initiatives of Ministry of MSME for the progress and development of MSME sector and emphasized on Public Procurement Policy (PPP) of Ministry of MSME.

Shri Surendra Singh Nahata, President of MSME Industrial Association, Noida, spoke about the scope of MSEs to provide their products and services to big players like NTPC and bridging gaps between the micro and small manufacturers and the product requirement of NTPC. Shri H.K. Dash, ED (CC&M) and Ms. Shoba Patabhiraman, CGM (CC&M), NTPC also spoke about their priority to procure from the MSEs and highlighted that NTPC has significantly purchasing its required products from MSEs and also focused on further enhancing the scale of procurement.

Ms. Ashwini Lal, Additional Development Commissioner, O/o DC (MSME), Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi, in her inaugural speech informed that the government has recognized the importance of empowering the MSEs and has introduced various initiatives and policies to support their growth and Sambandh Portal is a digital platform is created by the Ministry to monitor the status of procurement of goods and services from MSEs.

In this event, a seminar is being organized on various topics, in which NTPC Ltd. presented its requirement of products and services and discussed about the process of procurement as per the Public Procurement Policy. Technical sessions/interactions were also organized for direct interaction between Government Departments, CPSUs and MSME units to resolve all kinds of queries.

A special session was organized on GeM (Government e-Marketplace) and benefits for SC/ST Enterprises through National SC/ST Hub Scheme by NSIC and session on ZED Scheme & Credit Guarantee Trust Fund (CGTMSE) for MSE’s was also organized.

In this Vendor Development Programe, MSME-DFO, New Delhi presented various schemes/ policies meant for awareness of Public Procurement Policy (PPP). The main focus was on topics like Public Procurement Policy for MSEs, PMS, Udyam Registration, MSE-CDP, SFRUTI etc. A special session was organized on GeM (Government E-Marketplace), benefits and procedure for GeM registration etc.

During the programme, NTPC presented various business opportunities for MSEs entailing the ease of doing business through their procurement strategies like
Vendor Enlistment Process, GeM Portal, Vendor Development Cell, Vendor Payment Group and other benefits to MSEs. NTPC also exhibited its commitment towards building a sustainable future alongside empowering MSEs through developmental efforts.
