NCC Bags ₹6,829 Crore Mining Contract from Central Coalfields Limited

The contract covers the extraction and transportation of overburden (OB) and coal from the Amrapali Open Cast Project (OCP) in the Chandragupt Area of Jharkhand

NCC Limited, one of India’s leading infrastructure and construction companies, has secured a major mining contract worth ₹6,828.94 crore from Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL). This is among NCC’s largest project wins in recent quarters and further strengthens its presence in India’s mining sector.

In a regulatory filing, NCC announced that it received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) dated October 24, 2025, from CCL. The contract covers the extraction and transportation of overburden (OB) and coal from the Amrapali Open Cast Project (OCP) in the Chandragupt Area of Jharkhand.

Under this project, NCC will deploy Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) for:

  • Removal of 413.59 million cubic meters (M CuM) of overburden,
  • Extraction of 233.325 million tonnes (MT) of coal,
  • Transportation to Shivpur siding and surface stock yard under various lead slabs, and
  • Wagon loading of 139.995 MT of coal at the Shivpur siding of Amrapali OCP.

The project underscores NCC’s robust capabilities in handling large-scale mining operations and its continued partnership with Coal India subsidiaries for sustainable coal production and logistics management.

With this latest contract, NCC further enhances its already strong order book and reinforces its position as a key player in India’s infrastructure and mining ecosystem.
