Post Independence in 75 Ordnance Factories have developed hundreds of new products required for the Armed Forces and Armed Forces are happy with those products. But no drum beating and publicity since Ordnance Factories in the past were told that these are all Defence Products and hence Secrecy should me maintained. In the past instances were there Union leaders were chargesheeted for publishing products names in their pamphlets. Now after opening door of Defence Production to the Private Sector , Govt and the media publicises whenever the private sector produce some thing for the first time which Ordnance Factories were producing these products for decades together. But when Ordnance Factories develop and produces a new product everybody,s mouth is shut. This is how the Ordnance Factories are ignored and neglected.
The OCF Avadi Chennai has developed Bullet Resistant Vest and Jacket and are supplying to State polices. Same Factory is now manufacturing the new Army Digital Uniform. Army Units are approaching the Factory for individually measured and stitched Uniform to the Soldiers But no propaganda, no publicity.
Yesterday, the Ordnance Factory Bhandara despatched the Indigenous Rocket Motorcharged Propellant to Ordnance Factory Khamaria. An achievement of 15 years hard work by the Ordnance Factory Bhandara. The same Propellant Ordnance Factory Khamaria used to import from Sweden. But to make this product in India the workforce of Ordnance Factory Bhandara struggled day and night successfully developed the Rocket Motor Charged propellant 551 Ammunition. It has passed all the mandatory tests and trials.
Is this achievement not Make in India, Is it not import replacement, Is it not the real Atmanirbhar ? Then why no propaganda, no publicity, no recognition to the Ordnance Factory questions C Srikumar. He further stated that where are those motor mouthed Retired Generals and self claimed defense experts ?,where their paid articles against Ordnance Factories.
Nation should understand the planned conspiracies against Ordnance Factories which led to the ill conceived decision of Corporatising the Ordnance Factories. Hope now at least Govt will realize the importance of Ordnance Factories and safeguard and strengthen it, concludes C. Srikumar.
