NTPC Bongaigaon Celebrates World Earth Day With Green Initiative

In a tribute to the planet and its ecosystems, NTPC Bongaigaon observed World Earth Day today with a plantation drive organized by the Environment Management Group (EMG) Department. The event focused on strengthening NTPC’s commitment towards environmental protection and sustainable living.

Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, planted saplings to inaugurate the drive in the presence of Debabrata Kar, General Manager (O&M), and senior officials from various departments. More than 50 saplings, including fruit-bearing and native species, were planted within the township and plant premises to mark the day.

Addressing the gathering, Maitra emphasized the need for collective responsibility in combating climate change and preserving biodiversity. Maitra lauded the EMG Department for driving the initiative and encouraged employees to adopt green practices in everyday life.

The plantation drive reflects NTPC’s ongoing efforts in fostering ecological balance and reflects the organization’s role as a responsible corporate citizen working for a greener tomorrow.
