NTPC Unchahar Celebrates 51 Glorious Years of NTPC’s Journey with Pride and Purpose
The official ceremony began with a live telecast of the Raising Day address by Gurdeep Singh, CMD, NTPC, from the EOC, New Delhi

NTPC Unchahar marked the 51st Raising Day of NTPC Limited with great enthusiasm and pride, celebrating over five decades of excellence in power generation and nation-building. The occasion underscored NTPC’s enduring commitment to sustainable growth, environmental protection, and national development.
The celebrations commenced with a massive plantation drive near the Arkha Ash Dyke, where 2,000 saplings were planted, reaffirming NTPC’s pledge towards environmental stewardship and green initiatives.
The official ceremony began with a live telecast of the Raising Day address by Gurdeep Singh, CMD, NTPC, from the EOC, New Delhi. During the event, Shri Singh also inaugurated the newly constructed VIP Guest House ‘Sangam’ at NTPC Unchahar.

At the project level, the celebrations were led by Abhay Kumar Srivastava, Executive Director and Head of Project, NTPC Unchahar, at the Safety Park. The event was graced by Anupama Srivastava, President, Priyadarshini Ladies Club, along with General Managers Asutosh Biswas, Dillip Kumar Sahu, Shri S. U. Haridas, AC-CISF Ajay Tripathi, Heads of Departments, employees, and representatives of unions and associations.
The programme began with the flag unfurling ceremony, followed by the NTPC anthem sung by employees. In his address, Abhay Kumar Srivastava commended the dedicated efforts of all departments and employees in contributing to NTPC Unchahar’s sustained success. The atmosphere was further enlivened by a symbolic balloon release and a cake-cutting ceremony, reflecting the joy and unity of the occasion.
A special quiz competition for employees was also organised, witnessing enthusiastic participation, and winners were felicitated with prizes.
As part of the Raising Day celebrations, NTPC Unchahar awarded NTPC Utkarsh Merit Scholarships to 30 meritorious students from six nearby government schools. The scholarships were presented under various categories — General, Girls, SC/ST, and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) — recognizing outstanding performances in the Class 10 and 12 board examinations for the academic year 2024–25.
The event also featured the prize distribution ceremony for winners of the Vigilance Awareness Week competitions, highlighting NTPC’s culture of excellence, transparency, and integrity.
The day concluded on a patriotic note with a mass singing of “Vande Mataram”, led by students of DAV School, commemorating the 150th anniversary of the timeless national song. The rendition symbolized NTPC’s enduring values of unity, dedication, and service to the nation.
