NUCFDC Launches Sahakar Digipay and Sahakar Digiloan to Digitally Empower Urban Co-operative Banks

The National Urban Co-operative Finance and Development Corporation (NUCFDC), the Umbrella Organization for Urban Co-operative Banks (UCBs), has launched Sahakar Digipay and Sahakar Digiloan — two purpose-built digital platforms aimed at strengthening payments infrastructure and automating lending operations across UCBs.

Unveiled by Amit Shah, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, at Co-op Kumbh 2025, these initiatives align with the government’s vision of digitally empowered and sustainable UCBs. The products will help modernize bank operations and enable them to better serve a new generation of tech-savvy customers.

Jyotindra Mehta, Chairman, NUCFDC, highlighted that India’s 1,400+ Urban Co-operative Banks serve over 9 crore customers through nearly 11,500 branches. “NUCFDC’s product suite is designed to bridge the digital gap by offering affordable, future-ready solutions that strengthen governance and service delivery,” he said.

Prabhat Chaturvedi, CEO, NUCFDC, added that these platforms simplify digital transformation for UCBs by minimizing manual intervention, improving turnaround time, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Sahakar Digipay serves as a centralized UPI switch, helping banks reduce transaction costs while offering advanced fraud detection and risk management tools.

Sahakar Digiloan is a Loan Origination System (LOS) that enables paperless onboarding with digital KYC, automated credit assessment, and real-time risk identification. It enhances both retail and commercial lending operations, promoting transparency, efficiency, and faster credit delivery.

These innovations mark a decisive step in NUCFDC’s mission to make Urban Co-operative Banks more competitive, customer-centric, and resilient in India’s evolving financial landscape.
