NUCFDC Launches ‘Sahakar PaathShaala’ — A National Training And Capacity-Building Programme For Urban Cooperative Banks

In a landmark move to strengthen the Urban Cooperative Banking sector, the National Urban Co-operative Finance & Development Corporation (NUCFDC) has launched ‘Sahakar PaathShaala’, a national-level training and capacity-building initiative tailored for Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs) across India. The inaugural event was held at the Cosmos Bank Head Office in Pune and witnessed the participation of over 100 senior banking leaders, including Chairmen, CEOs, and Directors from UCBs spanning Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, and Karnataka.

Gracing the launch event were key dignitaries including Prabhat Chaturvedi, Chief Executive Officer, NUCFDC; Padmabhushan Bahadure, Chief Technology Officer, NUCFDC; Adv. Pralhad Kokare, Chairman, Cosmos Bank; and Sharad Gangal, Chairman, TJSB Sahakari Bank.

Sahakar PaathShaala is a structured, multidimensional training platform that goes beyond traditional learning to offer practical insights on critical operational areas. The program includes modules focused on:
- KYC compliance and regulatory updates
- Fraud risk identification and mitigation
- Treasury and asset-liability management
- Governance, leadership, and operational excellence
Designed exclusively for UCBs, the initiative aims to enhance risk management, compliance adherence, digital literacy, and technology integration across all levels of cooperative banks. It encourages agile leadership and equips institutions with tools to meet member expectations and regulatory benchmarks in an evolving financial ecosystem.
Digital Learning Platform and Webinar Series Launched
At the event, NUCFDC also unveiled the ‘Sahakar PaathShaala Digital Learning Platform’, a gamified, multilingual e-learning portal that enables professionals from UCBs to engage in self-paced learning. The platform supports continuous education in English and major regional languages, enhancing accessibility and inclusiveness across the sector. The portal was inaugurated by Shri Sharad Gangal, Chairman, TJSB Sahakari Bank.
Additionally, NUCFDC announced the ‘Sahakar PaathShaala Interactive Webinar Series’, which will be held on the second and fourth Fridays of every month. This ongoing series aims to serve as a vibrant knowledge-sharing forum for senior UCB leadership, including Chairmen and CEOs, to discuss emerging trends, regulatory changes, and strategic innovations.
