Maharatna PSUs join hands at India Energy Week 2026 to explore technical collaboration and joint participation in upcoming exploration bid rounds

At India Energy Week 2026, collaboration took centre stage as Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and IndianOil Corporation Limited (IOCL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 27 January 2026 to explore potential technical collaboration and evaluate partnership opportunities in upcoming exploration bid rounds.

The MoU was signed in the presence of ONGC Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs) Arunangshu Sarkar, ONGC Director (Exploration) O. P. Sinha, and IOCL Executive Director (Exploration & Production) A. K. Tiwari.

The agreement marks a strategic step towards strengthening synergies between the two Maharatna PSUs, enabling knowledge sharing, pooling of technical expertise, and joint evaluation of future upstream opportunities.

By aligning capabilities across exploration and development, ONGC and IndianOil aim to enhance India’s domestic hydrocarbon potential and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s long-term energy security.
