Online LPG Bookings Surge to 97%; Supply Remains Stable Amid Geopolitical Situation
Over 550 awareness camps have been conducted nationwide for 5-kg Free Trade LPG cylinders, with more than 6,700 cylinders sold

Domestic LPG supply across India remains stable, with over 18 crore cylinders delivered since March 1, 2026, even as online bookings have surged to around 97% across the industry.
The government has assured that no shortages or dry-outs have been reported, urging citizens to avoid panic buying and rely only on official information sources.
To ease pressure on LPG demand, authorities are promoting PNG connections, electric cooking options, and alternate fuels. Over 550 awareness camps have been conducted nationwide for 5-kg Free Trade LPG cylinders, with more than 6,700 cylinders sold.
A three-member committee of oil PSUs is coordinating with states to streamline commercial LPG distribution, while enforcement agencies have intensified action against hoarding—conducting over 1 lakh raids, seizing 52,000+ cylinders, and registering 850 FIRs.
Despite global challenges, key measures such as enhanced refinery output, regulated booking intervals, and prioritised supply to essential sectors are ensuring uninterrupted availability.
Additionally, PNG expansion is being accelerated, with 3.67 lakh new connections activated since March and incentives offered to households and businesses.
The government reiterated that energy supplies remain adequate and appealed to citizens to conserve fuel and use digital booking platforms.
