Operation Sindoor Fallout: Airports In Sensitive Zones Closed Till May 10; Airlines Issue Travel Advisories
The decision follows a major military operation carried out by the Indian Armed Forces in the early hours of Wednesday

In the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, India has temporarily shut down several airports in sensitive regions of the country till May 10, as a precautionary security measure. The affected airports include Dharamshala, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar, Jodhpur, Chandigarh, Amritsar, and Bikaner.
The decision follows a major military operation carried out by the Indian Army in the early hours of Wednesday, where nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) were destroyed using precision missile strikes.
Following the strikes, multiple airlines, including SpiceJet, IndiGo, Air India, and Alliance Air, have suspended or adjusted flight operations to and from the affected regions. They have also issued advisories urging passengers to check their flight status before heading to the airport, as departures, arrivals, and connecting flights may be disrupted.
Airline Advisories:
- SpiceJet stated that operations at airports in Dharamshala, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar, and Amritsar will remain suspended until further notice.
- IndiGo reported flight disruptions involving Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, and Bikaner, citing airspace restrictions.
- Air India and Alliance Air have echoed similar precautions and advised passengers to stay updated through their official channels.

Passengers planning to travel to or from these regions are strongly advised to monitor airline updates and reconfirm bookings to avoid inconvenience.
